Anybody who is interested in getting interpersonal with the others in Project LIFE; we can always get together here in Orkut for any discussions connected with GID, share experiences, success stories etc. Members can even organize events to discuss issues. We will also keep inviting several medical professionals to join us too; to get more help for those who need it.

Note: There are several medical (biological) conditions which lead to the manifestation of a person's wrong psychology. Recently, there have been several endocrinological and neuro-endocrinological disorders found to be connected with GENDER IDENTITY problems.

Symptoms:

a) TIMID PERSONALITY/SOCIAL ANXIETY/MAJOR DEPRESSION
b) HOMOSEXUALITY / SELF-ABUSE
c) TRANSSEXUALITY

Even the person who does or does not outwardly express any unnatural desires of the being the opposite sex or being treated as the opposite sex, do not really want to do the things they do. For, if a transsexual male-female's greatest desire was to become a strong and father/powerful/successful man; as a child - the dreams get miserably shattered as they grow older; due to their uncontrollably compulsive pleasure seeking behavior involving several types of paraphelia.

Most transsexuals regret- There have been cases where some even get transitioned back again to their birth sex. Because they do know in their hearts that only living the right way can give them peace, joy and happiness. Unfortunately, ignorance leaves many GID patients in a very poor state of well-being.

With advances in medicine - there have been several conditions that are suspected to be the cause for GIDs in babies that were not exposed to proper prenatal hormones which fail to de-feminize the brain of the baby; only the body masculinized.

But there is help available - we can spread the awareness that GID can be treated; and will soon be there a day where babies in the womb are tested for genetic abnormalities like personality/identity disorders - and can be prevented by medically handling the situation to save a lifetime of misery for the child.
However treatment in adults with GID requires more research - but definititely very promising.

Link between Adrenal Insufficiency, Cortisol and Stress Endurance

Please check out this link on Adrenal Insufficiency or Low Adrenal Function which basically leads to improper production of the hormones by the adrenal glands particularly cortisol.

It can be a probable cause for severe stress or chronic fatigue syndrome; which shows up as excessive fatigue that worsens through the day. And partial to complete inability to work under pressure physically or mentally.

I came across this very interesting article (The R.E.D Health Blog) on Cortisol and several other key facts regarding the same; which might certainly be helpful for somebody who is searching in the dark.
